AFH is a global community of international students and American hosts who are committed to providing a warm homestay environment that fosters cultural immersion, exchange, and lifelong friendships that span continents. We believe both students and hosts are cultural ambassadors, and that AFH promote global friendships lasting a lifetime.
To provide security and support to international students and to hosts, to ensure a positive educational and homestay experience.
To connect people from different countries and cultures through the support for global education.
AFH was founded on the grounds of international friendship and community, which remain our highest priorities, as they encourage a successful immersion and international experience.
Established as a small community of international students in the summer of 2005 in Sacramento, California, AFH came from humble beginnings. Knowing how hard it was for an individual to navigate a foreign country on his or her own, a group of international students came together, lent each other support, and grew as a group as time passed.
What started with eight students, today AFH has become a wide network for international students to interact, help one another, and immerse themselves in their education and gain the cultural experience needed to succeed on the competitive international market. AFH has grown from providing friendship, community, and support to an organization providing a full range of support services to ensure security, convenience, and stability.
